Meditation 1- Letting go of fear and surrendering to what is.

Kundalini yoga is something I am so passionate about. It has changed my life! As part of my daily self-care routine, I now sit daily and perform a 3 minute meditation.  Why? Well, I am a very busy, high achieving woman, mother, student, wife and business owner. In the past I used to run on adrenaline in order to get so much done each day. I never allowed time to just sit and BE. As a new mother, doing this day in and day out was not healthy. I was constantly in a state of fight or flight, running on cortisol…. This resulted in me burning out! I now dedicate time in the middle of my day where I practice Kundalini yoga. I am still and I allow my nervous system to move from a Sympathetic (fight or flight) state to a Parasympathetic (rest and digest) state. This has been a savior not only for my mental health, but for the health of my hormones, adrenals and physical well-being. As a result it has helped me to be way more productive. Eating a perfect diet and exercising daily just isn’t enough to achieve optimal health. Our MIND plays a huge role in this equation too. Kundalini yoga involves hand gestures, mantras, meditation and breath work to accelerate the healing of the mind, body and spirit. It is simple and repetitive. Anyone can do it, at anytime. It has been around for 1000’s of years and science in now catching up on the amazing benefits a daily practice can have on your health. Give it a go.

MEDITATION 1

Set your alarm for 3-5 minutes. Sit cross legged. Hold your left hand out in front of your body, and place your right hand underneath to touch. Bring your right thumb over and into your left palm, then cross left thumb over that. Hold that hand gesture while bringing it up in front of your heart.  Close eyes. Breathe deeply and slowly. Focus on a sense of security and your smooth gentle breathe. If your mind is busy and wonders you can chant silently to yourself, “I let go of my fear and surrender to what is.”

Do this everyday for 1 week. Trust me it is transformational!
